James & Pine Street Historic Business District Initiative Aims to Honor Goldsboro’s Black Economic Legacy

🌟 Exciting developments are happening in Goldsboro as the community honors its rich history of Black entrepreneurship with the **James & Pine Street Historic Business District Initiative**. This project, led by April Johnson-Choice and dedicated community members, aims to establish a memorial park that serves as both an educational resource and an outdoor museum, celebrating the vibrant Black business district that thrived from the 1920s to the 1970s.

The initiative seeks not only to preserve the legacy of past businesses but also to revitalize the area by creating opportunities for new Black-owned enterprises. The first major milestone is the creation of this memorial park, which will include digital storytelling and community engagement to document personal histories and memories associated with the historical district.

Community involvement kicks off with an event on **May 24** at the future park site, inviting everyone to share their stories and contribute memorabilia that reflects this important part of Goldsboro’s heritage.

Now, as we honour the past, it’s essential to also support the future of Black entrepreneurship. At B1Thrive, we’re committed to fostering digital sovereignty in our community. Our **ThriveCloud** solution is specifically designed for Black-owned businesses, providing **fully customizable tools** that cater to their unique needs.
