Celebrating August as Black Business Month

August is a significant month as we honor Black Business Month—an opportunity to recognize and uplift African American entrepreneurs across the country. This month shines a light on the critical contributions that Black-owned businesses make to our communities and the economy.

With over 3.12 million Black-owned businesses employing nearly 1.18 million people, their impact is undeniable. However, these entrepreneurs often face systemic challenges that hinder their growth. This year’s theme, “Investing in Us,” serves as a clarion call for all individuals and organizations to actively support Black-owned enterprises through funding, mentorship, and conscious consumer choices.

Local events and campaigns, like “Shop Black,” are fostering connection and collaboration, driving visibility and support for these businesses. Corporations are stepping up too, creating dedicated funds to help bridge the funding gap many face.

As we celebrate this month, let us all commit to investing in Black entrepreneurship, not just in August, but year-round. Together, we can support diversity, innovation, and economic empowerment.

In line with this theme of empowerment, I’m excited to introduce B1Thrive ThrivCloud.
